Good Food Stores
Founded in 2015 by Vicky Skingley, Good Food was crowdfunded by 350 local residents and businesses. Local residents were tired of losing high street shops to residential conversions and residents surveys identified a real hunger for a better local shopping experience. When we opened we wanted to put local quality food back on the map in Catford, and create jobs in our local economy. We’re a Social Enterprise; That means all the money you spend in-store is reinvested in the business, and goes to pay the London Living Wage and to improve our service.
We are independent; We are a customer focused and We are good at what we do. We also won the Time Out ‘Best Shop in Catford’ 2018 thanks to all for the support we receive from our loyal customer base. We sell organic fruit and veg; artisan breads and pastries; wines from small independent producers (some organic); a range of locally brewed craft beer; Neal’s Yard cheese; British charcuterie; organic groceries and deli fine foods.
We make fresh takeaway food from our zero waste kitchen. 90% of what you see is made in house using the ingredients from our shelves; the shop is our larder. We don’t skimp or make our food on the cheap.
We source our products locally and prioritise selling organic, healthy and fresh foods. To us that means every customer counts and as a small shop we can listen and adapt to your specific needs so if there is something we have missed then let us know.
