District

Born and bred on Australia’s Gold Coast, Chelsea has always dreamt of bringing the tasty “Aussie style” brunch culture to London through simple quality food, speciality coffee and a warm welcome. From humble beginnings, the journey first started in Chelsea’s kitchen, where she baked her banana bread for local cafes and delivered them on her bicycle. In May 2017, Chelsea opened the first branch of District in her local neighbourhood of Parsons Green. A second District site in Nine Elms followed shortly after in November 2017.

The design and interiors of the cafes are inspired by the beach, filled with natural light and are laid out with a clean and minimalistic feel.

District has an easy going, friendly style of service that makes guests feel welcome. This laid-back environment creates a sense of community within the different districts that the cafes are based. This sense of community is also reflected by the teams that work at each location.

Our product is simple and delicious. We’ve partnered with Origin Coffee Roasters to perfect our signature blend. Resolute, our blend of Nicaragua and El Salvador origins produce a flavour profile of milk chocolate, stewed plums and caramel. We have a range of single origin beans from Origin that we use for a batch brew filter and V60 as well as a monthly rotation of guest roasters to keep our offering ever-changing.

The food at District is uncomplicated and reflects the wholesome lifestyle of Chelsea’s upbringing in Australia. It is fresh, handmade and satisfying with nutritional benefits.

We take care when sourcing our products and partners, prioritising local suppliers that use the best ingredients and are conscious of the environment. We support a sustainable food and drink industry in the UK and minimise wastage wherever possible across the business.
